NeCGA Urges Nebraska Delegation to Pass Farm Bill
May 14, 2008
The Honorable Senator Hagel
United States Senate
248 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510
202-224-5213
Dear Senator Hagel:
On behalf of the Nebraska Corn Growers Association we would urge you to vote in favor of final consideration of the Conference Report of the 2008 Farm Bill. The final report does not contain everything that the NeCGA would like to have seen included; however, overall we believe it has a balanced compromise of policy priorities. Rarely does legislation of the magnitude of the Farm Bill have such a broad consensus and bipartisan support.
We appreciate the leadership and hard work that you and your staff have committed the past two years in building this Farm Bill. This program will create both positive and negative impacts on Nebraska agriculture as a whole, but we believe it is in the best interest for our farmers and ranchers to move forward with the Conference Report and complete the work on the 2008 Farm Bill.
Sincerely,
